FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How much does a boiler service cost?

    Depending on the type of appliance a boiler service is normally £80-£100 plus vat.

  • Do I need to do anything before the service?

    We would appreciate it if you could clear the work area around the boiler and also turn off the appliance approximately an hour before we arrive. To do this you simply can turn the control clock to the off position.

  • How often should I get my boiler serviced?

    Every 12 months to keep it functioning properly and also safe. A well maintained boiler is often more efficient and can save you money.

    What is included in a boiler service?

    - a comprehensive check of the boiler both visually and mechanically;

    - a full strip down and clean of the boiler internally and externally;

    - checking and cleaning of a Magna-clean or system filter;

    - bleeding of radiators;

    - combustion analysis and print out of the readings;

    - record update to maintain manufacturers warranty; and

    - on an oil boiler we include the changing of the injector nozzle as part of the cost of the service.

    We will also check over the gas supply and carry out any gas checks required.

  • What qualifications should a gas boiler engineer have?

    Any engineer working on your gas appliance should have a gas safe registration number.

    The engineer must requalify every 5 years to remain certified, and this can be checked on the gas safe register here.
